In addition to commemorating a (possibly apocryphal) Catholic saint, Valentine’s Day is widely recognized in Western Europe and North America as a day for love and romance. Because the personal is political, Valentine’s Day is no exception. Today we talk about ethical consumerism in small purchases as well as large ones.

We’re over a week into Black History Month. Thanks largely to the tireless advocacy of black historian Dr. Carter G.
