As if threatening DACA wasn’t enough, the Trump administration is attacking immigrants on all fronts. The White House has just issued a third version of its travel ban, which would target immigrants from mostly Muslim countries and—unlike earlier proposed travel bans—would be indefinite in length. But that’s not the end of the story, and today we’re going to fight for immigrants’ rights.

Helping Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico has had a hellish hurricane season. A mere two weeks after Hurricane Irma killed six people, cut power to a million residents, and caused $1 billion in damages, Hurricane Maria has torn across the island. The destruction was described “as if a 50- to 60-mile-wide tornado raged across Puerto Rico, like a buzz saw.” At least six more people have been killed, the island is facing severe flooding, the whole population of 3.4 million is without power, and almost the entire population is without cell service. Today's issue focuses on how we can start to rebuild.

Congressional Republicans are baaaaaack. They're trying to sneak in an attack on health insurance for millions while they think we aren't watching. So we need to let them know we're watching.

The Graham-Cassidy bill hasn’t been subjected to a full analysis—there’s no CBO score—but we know it guts funding for Medicaid, and undermines protections for people with pre-existing conditions. If we can keep up the pressure until September 30, Senate rules are going to make it much harder to gut health care. This week is do or die.
