Puerto Rico has had a hellish hurricane season. A mere two weeks after Hurricane Irma killed six people, cut power to a million residents, and caused $1 billion in damages, Hurricane Maria has torn across the island. The destruction was described “as if a 50- to 60-mile-wide tornado raged across Puerto Rico, like a buzz saw.” At least six more people have been killed, the island is facing severe flooding, the whole population of 3.4 million is without power, and almost the entire population is without cell service. Today's issue focuses on how we can start to rebuild.
