The president is expected to announce today that he will be ending an Obama-era program that allows undocumented immigrants who arrived in the United States as minors to receive renewable two-year deferrals from deportation. The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program is only open to those who arrived before the age of 16, and who are currently in school, have graduated high school, or have served in the US military.
President Trump has signaled that he intends to end the program in six months, which gives Congress a chance to act and save the “DREAMers.” Today we talk about getting Congress to act and provide a path to citizenship for these Americans.
