Dreaming of DACA, Nightmares of ICE

As the midterm Congressional races heat up, some Republican lawmakers are considering breaking with the GOP stance on immigration reform as a means to seek reelection. A discharge petition is currently five signatures shy of from the 218 it needs to trigger four votes on immigration matters, including one to protect Dreamers (Americans brought to the US without documentation as children and who were protected under DACA, a policy the Trump administration ended in March). Meanwhile, the Trump administration continues its invective against undocumented immigrants, and outrages aplenty are being committed against them by ICE.
